Fall Plans + Fall Look: Autumn Leaves
With September over, it is crazy to think there are only 3 months left of the year! October is my favorite month because of all the festivities that begin. The month is already off to a busy start and I know it will be a great one. If you need some fall plans, I’ve included some of my favorite activities below! I hope I get to check off a few before the month ends.
This has become a sort of tradition for my fiance and I. We go to a pumpkin patch almost every year. We usually go to the pumpkin patch at Tanaka Farms in Irvine, CA. It's pretty cute because they started doing a Hello Kitty themed pumpkin patch. I would advise buying a parking pass on their website, because it can be pretty terrible especially on the weekends. This might be the year we change things up and visit one in LA instead. Nothing is more festive this time of year than a carved pumpkin by your doorstep!
I haven't been to one since elementary school, but I want to visit an apple orchard while they are in season! I think it would be fun picking out your own apples and exploring the orchards. I love baking and think it would be a great idea to use the apples in some sort of recipe! Also, a lot of the orchards I’ve been researching are great for having your own picnics, which I love doing. Did I mention I love apple cider, caramel apples, apple pie, and pretty much anything apple?
Most people say Christmas or Thanksgiving is their favorite holiday. My favorite holiday is Halloween! I love the spookiness and the creative Halloween decor. Maybe because I've been into horror movies and ghost stories all my life, but the spirit of Halloween resonates with me! I have nothing specific planned yet, but I always dress up and bar hop around downtown Los Angeles. You might see in a later post what my costume is going to be ;)
This isn’t as much a fall-specific activity as the others, but I think it’s the best time to go! I went to Sonoma two years ago and had a wonderful experience. Not to mention, northern California is beautiful in the fall. We did a tour of wine tastings, specially curated by a local company, Simply Driven. I must admit, it was more wine than I can handle that day, but I’ve grown such an appreciation for wine since then. Since I’m looking to take a mini-vacation in the fall, I definitely want to use it to go wine tasting. I’m still deciding between Santa Barbara or going all the way to Napa.
Outfit: Autumn Leaves
Okay, let’s talk about today’s look - I was inspired by the warm tones of the season, specifically when the leaves start turning orange. I know fall doesn’t mean much in sunny Los Angeles, but that doesn’t mean you can’t appreciate the season’s beauty! I paired this kimono styled crop top with a zip-up khaki denim skirt, both from Charlotte Russe.
Since it’s still kind of warm, I thought this was a good transitional look between summer and fall. I wore a bralette from Adore Me underneath the top to add a bit more coverage and also because I love a pop of lace. The shoes are from Steve Madden, which I purchased some time ago, but they are one of my favorite pairs of heels!
I hope that I’ve inspired some ideas on what to do this season, or if you have other fall festivities that you like to to do, I’d love to hear them!
Til next time,
